NEW PUBLICATION TRACKS FOR IUS 2025

This year authors will have the following options to publish their work presented at IUS:

  1. Publish conference proceedings as usual. Follow the instructions for submission through the IEEE IUS 2025 Submission Portal.

    OR

  2. Submit a letter (3 pages minimum, 4 pages maximum length) to OJ-UFFC that will go through a full peer review. Letters based on work presented at IUS and submitted before September 30, 2025, will be marked as “IUS highlights” to comprise a special section if the number of published contributions is sufficient. Publishing in the Open Journal – UFFC will provide open access for your paper if it is accepted.

    OR

  3. Submit an extended version (~8-10 pgs.) of your manuscript to either

OJ-UFFC (https://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/oj-uffc) or

T-UFFC (https://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/tuffc-ieee).

T-UFFC no longer accepts letters, however, OJ-UFFC will continue accepting submissions in the letter format. During your submission, specify in your cover letter that you are submitting a manuscript based on a presentation in the IUS and mark the appropriate paper type. Manuscripts submitted to T-UFFC or OJ-UFFC will enjoy the benefits of peer review to improve the quality of the publication and the authors will be able to list these publications under peer-reviewed publications. These new publication tracks will also give the authors the opportunity to add material in their publications and incorporate comments they might have received during their conference presentations.

Each manuscript must be unpublished. For Tracks 2 and 3, the submitted manuscript must be prepared for potential publication in IEEE T-UFFC or OJ-UFFC, and not be under consideration elsewhere. By submitting a manuscript, all authors confirm that the work is original. Figures, tables, and reported results are original contributions and accurately reflect the presented work at the conference. It is the responsibility of the corresponding author to obtain consent from all co-authors and sponsors before submission.

It is important to note that your submission to peer review can result in a ‘reject’ decision. For your letter submission to OJ-UFFC, revisions will be suggested, if appropriate, and a revised submission will be allowed.

All articles published in IEEE T-UFFC and OJ-UFFC are evaluated in accordance with the requirements set forth in the IEEE Publication Services and Products Board (PSPB) Operations Manual (Sections 8.2). More detailed information on the review process can be found at https://ieee-uffc.org/publication/t-uffc/guidelines-authors
